Government

The Mississippi Republican Party believes an expansive government wastes taxpayer dollars and encroaches on freedom.  Government should be effective but small. 


We favor strengthening the role of the executive in government by granting to the Governor authority over executive agencies, and by granting the Governor actual line-item veto authority on appropriations bills. 


We believe all persons should be equal before the law and so to protect that equality, we seek only those of the highest integrity and honesty to serve in the Mississippi judiciary.
We believe political speech is protected speech and should not be censored through campaign finance limits.  We believe in open and transparent campaigns finances.
