Human Life and Dignity

Mississippi Republicans believe our state should be the safest place in the country for an unborn child. We believe the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life. We reaffirm our support for a human life amendment to the U.S. Constitution. We oppose using public revenues for abortion and reject funding organizations that advocate abortion. We commend those who provide alternatives to abortion by meeting the needs of mothers and offering adoption services. We reaffirm our support of the election of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life.


We oppose partial-birth abortion and support parental notification and consent for unmarried minors seeking an abortion. We oppose human cloning and the creation of human embryos solely for experimentation. We oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide.


We encourage accountable oversight of our elderly persons in nursing homes or assisted living centers, and advocate the aggressive protection of our mentally ill persons in public and private facilities.
