Preamble

The Mississippi Republican Party believes freedom provides the ideal framework for peace and prosperity; that civic responsibility and faith calls us to the service of our community; and that government’s primary purpose is to protect our inalienable rights and restrain evil.


The Mississippi Republican Party believes the institution of the family provides the best vehicle for individual advancement in values, education, and financial security.  We believe the government should promote strong families and honor marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman.  We believe in the sanctity and dignity of life.


The Mississippi Republican Party believes free enterprise is the engine that drives economic expansion and should be promoted and not hampered by government. We believe taxes should be fair but low, and government should be competent but small.  We believe in the rule of law and not men, and that our public officials should demonstrate integrity and honesty. 


The Mississippi Republican Party honors our first responders who safeguard our communities and protect our lives, health, and property.  We believe in the responsible enjoyment and use of our natural resources with respect for God’s creation.


The Mississippi Republican Party celebrates the culture of Mississippi and recognizes the educational, tourism, and quality of life offered in our state.  We believe the spirit of Mississippians – the soul communicated in our art, music, and literature – resonated with the world after Hurricane Katrina.  We showed a competent government, a responsible private sector, and an enduring heart for each other. 


We believe Mississippi’s greatest days are still ahead of us and working together, we can move forward and realize Mississippi’s promise.
